Return to the Office – #HITsm Chat Topic

We’re excited to share the topic and questions for this week’s #HITsm chat happening Friday, 6/4 at Noon ET (9 AM PT). This week’s chat will be hosted by John Lynn (@techguy) from @hcitoday on the topic “Return to Work the Office.

I love when people talk to the “Return to Work.”  While we know what they’re saying, I’m sure that most of us probably hate the phrase.  While there’s exceptions in some industries, most of us in healthcare never stopped working.  In fact, we’ve been working from home which often meant we were working more.

That slight choice of words aside, every company is faced with the question of whether to return to the office or not.  While I think this is such an individual company decision, it’s worth exploring what the return to the office will look like.  Should companies force their employees to return to the office like Epic is doing with their employees.  Should health IT companies stay fully remote or should they consider some sort of hybrid and/or flexible model based on the employee and/or their role at the company?

In this week’s chat, we’ll talk about the return to the office.  You can share your experience and what you’d like to see happen.  Plus, we’ll prognosticate about what most companies are going to do.  We’ll also dive into the impact this will have on employers.  Will it help them in their recruiting or will it cause employees to leave for companies that have different policies?  We’ll also look at what the office of the future needs to look like and how many Zoom calls we’re going to be on in the future.

Join us for this week’s #HITsm chat where we’ll discuss the return to the office.
