Dr. Maulik Majmuda has joined Boston-based virtual care and digital therapeutics company Biofourmis as its chief medical officer, the company announced this week.

Prior to this new role, Majmudar served as medical office at Amazon, where he led the development and launch of Amazon Halo. Care Angel, maker of virtual nurse assistant technology, named Bud Flagstad as its new CEO.

Flagstad joins Care Angel after serving as the senior vice president of research and development at UnitedHealth Group.

He is taking over the CEO role from Wolf Shlagman, the founder of Care Angel, who is transitioning to a new position as chief product and innovation officer.

“After working with Bud as an investor and advisor to Care Angel for over a year, we are excited to welcome him to the Care Angel family as CEO,” Shlagman said in a statement. “The timing couldn’t be better to have him lead our revenue acceleration ramp and make sure we have the right partners to help fund our exponential growth. Bud has a proven track record and experience with some of the largest players in the market using transformative healthcare products that have impacted tens of millions of lives. I look forward to scaling the organization in collaboration with him.”

In addition to her work at Livongo, Schneider also previously served as CMO and vice president of strategic analytics at Castlight Health.

“Over the past decade, Dr. Jennifer Schneider has expertly led companies that have changed our view on how and where we can deliver high-quality healthcare,” John Driscoll, CEO of CareCentrix, said in a statement. “Her experience implementing new technology to improve health outcomes will be especially impactful to our emerging product offerings. She shares our values and is a great addition to our team.”

As a board member, Schneider will help guide CareCentrix in its mission to leverage technology to deliver more healthcare in the home setting.
