Two months after stepping down from his role as the FDA Commissioner, Dr. Scott Gottlieb has announced he is joining the venture firm NEA, Axios first reported. Gottlieb worked for the life science investing firm prior to his time heading the regulatory agency.

“I'm delighted to rejoin the venture capital firm @NEA where I worked for a decade prior to my most recent government service; and help support the innovation economy that's leveraging science to advance care, improve delivery, and expand consumer choice,” he wrote on twitter.

Jack Stoddard, chief operating officer of Haven, the joint venture between Amazon, JPMorgan and Berkshire Hathaway, stepped down last week. While his LinkedIn profile does not yet reflect this change, he confirmed his departure to CNBC, which first reported the story.

In addition to his role at Haven, he also served on the board of directors at addiction-focused digital health company Carrot and an advisor at Behave Care. Previously he worked as the general manager of digital health at Comcast.

Diabetes management company Glooko has tapped Dr. Mark Clements to be their next chief medical officer. Clements has been associated with the company since 2015 when he joined its medical advisory board. He has experience in both the academic setting and the clinical setting, having served as an associate professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and as a pediatric endocrinologist at Children’s Mercy Kansas City.

“With diabetes technology today, the person with diabetes is able to accumulate enormous amounts of data about his or her diabetes and share it safely with healthcare professionals, and that ability is expanding rapidly,” Clements said in a statement. “That can provide a huge advantage in helping patients be more effective in managing their diabetes, but only if we provide tools that can help them see their data in the form of practical insights that they and their clinicians can use to effectively guide diabetes management. As the clear leader and a trusted partner in diabetes data management, Glooko is in a unique position to forge the path toward keeping data private and secure while making it usable and practical for patients and their providers, and I’m excited to be joining the organization in leading that effort.”

Earlier this month the referral platform NowPow named Cathryn DeGraff Crookston as its head of sales. Crookston comes to the position with experience working as both a nurse and in customer service at Emmi Solutions and Wolters Kluwer.

“NowPow’s mission is to help organizations and communities build connections to better the lives of the people within them and those they serve,” Crookston said in a statement. “It’s exciting to be part of a team and company so invested in making preventive care a reality for all people  — whether they need to stay well, manage with chronic conditions, or care for others.”

Boston Children’s Hospital CEO Sandra Fenwick has announced that she is joining the board of directors at Livongo, a chronic disease management platform. She has been in the Boston Children’s role since 2013 and leads the hospital in both clinical and research.

"I am excited to join Livongo's board of directors and begin working with its industry-leading management team as they help make it easier for people with chronic and behavioral health conditions to stay healthy," Fenwick said in a statement. "I admire Livongo's innovative approach to moving care outside the four walls of the hospital and physician's office to a digitally enabled model. It's where healthcare is heading, and I'm looking forward to being a part of it."

Integrated EHR company MedHost’s CFO, Ken Misch, has been promoted to president of the company, and will be maintaining his current role. In his new position he will be overseeing innovation growth, security and cloud-based solutions.

“I look forward to working with our customers and associates in furthering our mission of advancing the patient care experience and improving our customers’ business operations,” Misch said in a statement. “With solutions tailored to meet the needs of our customers and a dedicated team of associates committed to providing world-class service and support, we’re uniquely positioned to serve standalone and multi-facility community hospitals and other specialty providers long term.”
