Exciting and Experimental Cancer Treatment Options for Fighting Cancer

Cancer is one of the most dreaded diseases. It is estimated that more than eight million people die of cancer every year. Scientists believe that there are more than 100 types of cancer and each one of them has different levels of severity and mortality rates.

However, technology has brought great relief to cancer patients across the world. Doctors and scientists have been able to develop various cancer treatment options. Most of these treatment options although still at the experimental stage, have proved to cure different types of cancers.

Below are some of the exciting and experimental cancer treatment options:

  1. Hyperthermia Therapy

Hyperthermia therapy is an experimental treatment option for cancer that employs whole-body administration of heat. The heat is intended to cause coagulation and denaturation of cellular proteins – hence destroying the cells in a tumor.

This treatment option is exciting because it offers very promising results. It basically kills the cancerous tumor from the inside out – shielding other healthy cells from being infected. Hyperthermia therapy is still in the initial stages of experimentation. There are several things that scientists are still testing before fully launching it as a cancer treatment option.

  1. Rife Therapy

Most cancer treatment options are invasive and destructive in nature. For example, chemotherapy and radiation methods can result in severe and long-lasting effects on patients. That’s the reason why many people are opting for non-invasive and more effective cancer treatment options.

Rife therapy utilizes bio-frequency to attack and destroy cancer cells and other diseases. During the treatment, a patient places electrical pads on either hands or feet.

The pads (that produce electrical pulses) are then attached to a Rife machine that produces low-energy waves. Rife therapy has minimal side-effects and is a drug-free treatment option.

  1. Gene Therapy

Gene therapy involves the introduction of enzymes in a cell that contains cancer with the objective of making them susceptible to specific chemotherapy agents such as thymidine kinase. This enzyme plays a key role in the manufacture of DNA.

Gene therapy is believed to become one of the most effective cancer treatments – although still in development. However, most experiments that have been conducted show promising results. Scientists are burning the midnight oil to conclude a few things before recommending it for the full treatment of cancer.

  1. Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy is a cancer treatment option that uses the body’s defense mechanism to destroy cancerous cells. The major advantage of this innovative treatment option is that it is less toxic and more effective compared to other treatment options.

The immunotherapeutic vaccine gives the body whatever it needs to fight cancerous cells. Although still in the experimental stage, immunotherapy has also proved to be effective in cancer patients.

  1. Adoptive Cell Transfer Therapies

This is a cancer treatment option that involves the removal of immune system cells from the body of a cancer patient. They are then re-engineered and taught how to fight certain forms of cancerous cells – before being reintroduced into the body.

This form of cancer treatment is being done on each patient. Meaning that its effectiveness might vary from one patient to another.
