Practices using DrChrono’s digital EHRs will now be able to incorporate OutcomeMD’s patient reported outcome tool within their workflows, thanks to a new partnership between the two companies. The functionality automatically pushes symptom and pain information submitted through patient devices to the clinician’s EHR medical note, is supported for 20 different medical specialties, including cardiology and orthopedics.

“OutcomeMD’s fitness-tracker-like experience for the patient integrated with DrChrono’s flexible EHR platform is disrupting digital health for physicians and patients by delivering transparency, shared decision-making, best practices and evidence-based medicine in one easy to use solution,” Dr. Justin Saliman, founder and CEO of OutcomeMD, said in a statement. “The patient reported outcomes and confounding factors, combined with DrChrono’s EHR data, empowers clinicians and administrators with a real-world tool for predictive analytics across all medical conditions. This technology combination enhances both the doctor and patient experience in ways never before possible and enables the delivery of true value-based care.”

K Health, maker of an artificial intelligence-powered app for consumer health information and primary care linkage, and healthcare API company Health Gorilla have signed an agreement that will allow the former to place diagnostic lab orders for patients treated through the app, the companies announced this morning.

"Health Gorilla’s APIs empower our providers with the information they need to treat patients remotely,” Scott Chesrown, chief operating officer at K Health, said in a statement. "Through this integration, we get instant access to a vast network of clinical endpoints, accelerating our efforts to reinvent the primary care experience.”

Clinical communication unicorn Outcome Health will now be playing health and wellness content from Verywell on its platform. The deal stands as Outcome’s largest to date, according to the company, and will feature original content produced by Verywell.

“Verywell understands that clinical accuracy and empathy are not mutually exclusive. Their focus to deliver the best and most trusted content to patients perfectly aligns with our commitment to elevate the patient experience with high-quality health content anchored in empathy,” Heidi Anderson, chief growth officer at Outcome Health, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to work together to effectively wrap our arms around patients and their caregivers during the moments when supportive content is needed the most.”

On Tuesday Blue Shield of California inked a deal with Zillion, a digital health behavior platform, to bring the latter’s Restore program to its members. The Restore program will be available through Blue Shield of California’s Wellvolution platform.

“Solera, Blue Shield and Zillion have a shared mission: to improve health outcomes by delivering personalization and strengthening engagement,” Cheryl Morrison Deutsch, chief experience officer at Zillion, said in a statement. “What Solera is doing at a macro level—acting as the Match.com of healthcare to pair individuals with a program that best fits their needs—is precisely what we are doing at a micro level, by providing personalized program experiences that nudge Restore members toward the behaviors that best suit their conditions.”
