We enable better performance for healthcare organizations, better access for patients, and better outcomes for all.

The Synzi name conveys ease of use and synchronicity amongst patients, family caregivers, and colleagues. The firm’s tech-forward logo reflects who we are today and symbolizes its dynamic and unswerving commitment to better technology, better care, and better outcomes.

The company was incorporated in 2018 and it’s headquartered St. Petersburg, FL

In a colloquy with Lee Horner, CEO of Synzi

Q. What led to the inception of the company?

Since we launched in early 2018, our company has evolved amidst a dynamic, ever-changing healthcare industry. During that time, we have developed an award-winning, integrated communication platform that goes beyond traditional telehealth applications to help healthcare organizations effectively engage patients across the continuum of care. The Synzi platform is equipped with a variety of communication modalities (including video, audio, email, text, and secure messaging) to optimize engagement, improve health outcomes and reduce costs.

Q. How successful was your first project roll on?

One of our first home health clients was Trilogy Home Healthcare.Trilogy selected Synzi’s virtual care communication platform to improve patient management, engagement, and care. With Synzi, Trilogy is able to follow through on their dedication to delivering compassionate care to their patients by introducing technology to get desired patient outcomes and reduce hospital readmissions. With Synzi’s platform, Trilogy’s clinical staff connects with patients more frequently, improving patient engagement. Going forward, Virtual care is going to be instrumental in Trilogy’s upcoming patient discharge program, BEAT (Better Engagement After Transition). The Synzi platform is now being rolled out into additional branch offices and Trilogy will be able to expand its reach into 42 Florida counties.

And, one of our first health system clients was Mary Free Bed rehabilitation hospital. Using Synzi’s platform allowed Mary Free Bed’s specialists to “lay their hands virtually on the patient” throughout the care continuum and across geographies and facilities. Synzi’s platform enables the facilitation of timelier, more convenient care while eliminating transportation costs and burdens. With enhanced connectivity, patients are provided access to the Mary Free Bed clinician best suited to address a patient’s individual needs, regardless of either party’s location. An interdisciplinary team of providers can focus on optimizing the care for the patient (as well as share best practices amongst each other) by also using HIPAA-compliant emails, text, and SMS to communicate with each other and engage the patient across all points of care. With the platform, medical staff can coordinate patient care from the ER and hospital admission onto rehabilitative care and post-discharge care at home. Virtual care technology can help patients return home sooner and become more self-sufficient by facilitating and improving access to efficient and effective care. By implementing virtual care into the admissions process and ongoing treatment (whether inpatient or outpatient), Mary Free Bed is able to continue to deliver on their commitment to providing unparalleled rehabilitation care.

Q. What are the greatest attributes of your company?

All our team members all embody the following values which are critical to our success:

  • Collaboration: Our team demonstrates collaboration which results in the company’s Success as ONE Synzi team
  • Integrity: Our commitment to always have strong moral principles in doing business, not only with our internal team but to all healthcare professionals, patients, members, and the communities we interact with

  • Accountability: We accept responsibility for doing what we say we will do when we say we will do it

Q. Building a culture of sustainability inside an organization is very important to maintain a reputation in the global market. How is it true for your company?

Our technology is cutting-edge and award-winning, helping to solidify our reputation in healthcare. We are excited to share that Synzi’s next-generation virtual care and patient engagement platform has been selected as the winner of the “Best Patient Relationship Management Solution” from MedTech Breakthrough, an independent organization that recognizes the top companies and solutions in the global health and medical technology market. This award recognizes how Synzi empowers healthcare organizations with valuable connections and more effective care while bringing convenience and peace of mind to patients and caregivers. This is our 2nd consecutive MedTech Breakthrough award; Synzi won the “Virtual Care Innovation Award” in 2018. Also, Synzi was recently named a “Best Company To Work For In Florida”.

Q. How would you describe Synzi, a ‘leader’ or a ‘follower’?

We see ourselves as a disrupter in the ever-evolving post-acute care market. Unlike our competition, we focus on the last 5 feet in healthcare – essentially, reaching the patient where s/he wants to age and heal at home – while providing the analytics which helps our customers make better decisions on how to best engage patients throughout the episode of care. Our core values are distinctly Synzi. To continue to drive innovative communication solutions for our home healthcare customer base, Synzi announced the grand opening of its new HQ in St. Petersburg in mid-December 2018. The location at 200 Central reflects our commitment to cutting-edge technology as downtown St. Petersburg is emerging as a “hub” and “hot spot” for talented professionals in the technology and healthcare fields. Our new office space has been custom-designed to enable Synzi team members to “live/breathe” its core values!
