Let’s Connect! What I’m looking forward to most at the Connected Health Conference in Boston

This Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (October 16-18) I will be in Boston covering the Connected Health Conference (a HIMSS event) for Digital Health Today. The agenda for this event looks outstanding, and I thought I would take a moment to let you know what I’m looking forward to the most.

Above all, I’m looking forward to meeting other members of our Digital Health Today community at the conference! Please click HERE to connect with me if you plan to be there!

One place where you’ll be sure to find me is the HealthTech Standout Competition taking place mid-day on Wednesday. The six featured companies were selected by a panel of digital health experts to present their innovations to conference attendees. I’ve heard a lot about in the news about Eko recently, and I’m eager to see their new Eko Duo ECG/digital stethoscope device in action. Like Eko, S-There Technologies and TripleW have devices that allow remote monitoring of patients, presumably capitalizing on the new reimbursement opportunities for Remote Patient Monitoring in the last two Medicare Physician Fee Schedules. Along those lines, I’m also interested in the Embracing Wearables in the Health Tech Landscape with Mateo Lai of Empatica. My guess is that Mateo’s presentation will focus on the capacity for data analytics that wearable devices will bring to bear.

The Connected Health Conference also promises an emphasis on the Life Sciences/BioTech and Digital Health, with sessions like the Fireside Chat on Pharma and Digital Health and Transforming the Life Sciences through Digital Health. The Life Sciences/BioTech aren’t necessarily the first thing things that come to mind when one thinks of Digital Health, but there are some amazing innovations out there that I’m eager to hear about first-hand.

Finally, an issue near and dear to my heart – innovations for those who suffer from dementia or Alzheimers. I will be on the edge of my seat for Wednesday’s presentation on Digital Tools for Dementia and Alzheimers: Design Advice from the Trenches, followed by a Meet the Experts session. The panel on Planning for an Aging Population focuses on an issue that is critical for the not-so-far-off future.

Can’t meet me there? No problem! Subscribe to our newsletter and we’ll let you know when my article is posted about all the great sessions I attended!
