American Well hires CFO, Amazon hires noted cardiologist, and more digital health hires and departures

American Well has hired Keith W. Anderson as its new chief financial officer. Anderson comes to American Well via Piper Jaffrey, where he served as managing director and a member of the healthcare investment banking team.

Dr. Maulik Majmudar has left his position as associate director of Massachusetts General Hospital's Healthcare Transformation Lab to join Amazon's burgeoning healthcare efforts. Majmudar announced the news on his Twitter, saying "[t]he one and only reason I am taking on this opportunity, is the possibility of making a truly meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of hundreds of millions of individuals throughout the world".

Lisa Suennen has moved on from her role of senior managing director of GE Ventures, CNBC reports. The healthcare angel investor was in this position for less than two years, and declined to comment on the reason for her departure aside from that it was time for her to "find a new adventure."

Blink Health, which makes an app and online tool for helping consumers find low prices for medications, has announced a slew of executive hires headlined by the appointment of Kurt Sauer as chief information security officer. Sauer is a seasoned executive with positions at Salesforce and Skype on his record. 

Other recent hires include Bill O'Donnell as EVP, head of engineering; Mark Diffley as VP, head of finance; Michael Nameth as EVP, cloud and specialty pharmacy; Susan Lang as chief strategy officer; Robert Birge as EVP of product and chief marketing officer; and Rochelle DiRe as chief people officer.

Patty Kumbera, a pharmacy industry veteran with particular experience in medication therapy management, has joined PrescribeWellness as its new chief operating officer. PrescribeWellness offers patient engagement and medication adherence software tools to pharmacies.

Chronic disease-focused health platform Liva Healthcare has tapped Thomas Cooke as its UK clinical services manager. Liva Healthcare is currently running the NHS Healthier You Diabetes Prevention Program pilot and Cooke will support that project.

Medical device company BioSig Technologies has tapped Johnson and Johnson veteran Amy Ansfield Scott to help with key opinion leader engagement ahead of the company's US launch of its PURE EP system.

“An experienced and passionate leader like Amy is an invaluable addition to our team," Chairman and CEO Kenneth Londoner said in a statement. "Her expertise in building successful physician relationships and the depth of her marketing knowledge can significantly benefit our effort to launch and expand our clinical operations following our 510(k) clearance."
