We’re excited to share the topic and questions for this week’s #HITsm chat happening Friday, 7/26 at Noon ET (9 AM PT). This week’s chat will be hosted by Lisa Davis Budzinski (@lisadbudzinski) and Becky Brandt, RN (@bbhomebody) on the topic “Helping Consumers/Patients Learn More About Healthcare IT”.
Healthcare IT systems in 2019 are far more in depth than most patients, caregivers and the general public realize. Healthcare IT plays a huge role in every aspect of a patient’s visit or hospital stay. But it’s rarely really seen or known about by healthcare users.
Today we would like to help educate in a participatory manner of what the HIT crew actually does and how it helps patients.
Please let us know through this HITsm chat what you would like patients, caregivers and others to know about HIT. The following are the topics that will serve as the framework for this week’s discussion and sharing.
Topics for this week’s #HITsm Chat:
T1: Please explain how your work in Health IT helps patients before &/or after their healthcare visits, hospital stays, and outpatient healthcare maintenance. #HITsm
T2: What is the biggest misconception patients have about Health IT? What would you say to clarify the misconception? #HITsm
T3: In the span of your career, (over many years or just a few), what is the biggest improvement or advancement you’ve seen in Health IT? #HITsm
T4: Share your favorite patient story/stories where Health IT helped them in their patient journey. #HITsm
T5: What tools, resources, websites apps, etc do you think more patients should know about? #HITsm
Bonus: What other suggestions do you have to help patients in understanding Health IT? #HITsm
